SWITCH Homes for Living has gathered a stack of design ideas together under the one roof to create the Switcheight180. No run of the mill display, this Caversham showpiece is more of a concept home designed to demonstrate the builders capabilities and keen eye for detail.

At just over $397,000, its Switchs most expensive display. But it can be built from a far more accessible $223,024 with the same footprint but a pared back specification.

"Switch is all about functionality and being able to make change easily," says Switch sales and marketing manager Lee Morris.

There are inspirational ideas aplenty in the Switcheight180, from the striking built in bedroom furniture and the skylights in the living area, to the internal shutters, freestanding bath, raking dropped ceilings and cavity sliding doors.

"Going into this one home is like going into 10 different homes in order to see such a dramatic level of detail," Lee says.

Buyers can pick from a smorgasbord of features to create a customised look and style.

The Switcheight180 is also big on practical spaces for living and entertaining, whether you opt for the high spec or budget friendly model.

"Elements such as the indoor/out interactivity are included at a design level," Lee says. "They’re spaces that we’ve built into the design itself."

As well as the home theatre and a web zone in the open plan living area, there is an activity area in the kids wing and a number of private courtyards and verandas to extend the outdoor living space.

The laundry is stacked with storage, the wet kitchen/bar features a servery window to the alfresco and there’s even a roller door at the back of the garage leading to an outdoor space perfect for cleaning the car or storing a boat, caravan, jet ski or motorcycle.

Two walls of glass all but disappear to merge the kitchen and dining room with the double sized alfresco.

Lee says the super size outdoor room helps meet the demands of homebuyers looking for the ultimate lifestyle package, from the Switcheight180s sparkling blue pool and outdoor bar, to the barbecue area and even the productive vegie patch.

"A strong aspect associated with modern living is indoor/outdoor entertaining and that interaction between inside and outside," Lee says. "When you walk through this home you really get a sense of the usability of the space and the wonderful indoor/outdoor interaction."

Packed with smart storage, the kitchen features stone benchtops, two under mounted sinks, push to open drawers and cabinet doors, timber grain laminate, a freestanding oven and an integrated wine fridge.

"Today, its about de cluttering and getting things out of the way," Lee says.

He says the Switcheight180 highlights a number of trends, including layering materials and using built in furniture to offer storage that is both functional and sculptural.

"As soon as you walk into the entry foyer of this home, you can tell you’re walking into something a little bit different," he says.
